What is the first thought that typically runs through a person’s mind when they think of Las Vegas? It probably includes the words gambling or casino or he Strip. The casino or gambling scene is well known in Las Vegas. But, maybe you didn’t know that LAs Vegas is an excellent place for an enjoyable golf vacation where there are many great courses for golfers of all skill levels.

Las Vegas deserves to be known for golf, not just casinos and gambling. Taking a golf vacation to Las Vegas is something any golfer should consider. Let’s take a look at some of the amazing golf courses you can find both in and near Las Vegas.

The Falls Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas: Designed by Tom Weiskopf, this course is absolutely gorgeous. The layout combines lush scenery with waterfalls and various elevations. Holes 12-14 include a view of the valley floor and 100 feet of elevation changes. Totally amazing!

Paiute Resort’s Snow Mountain: Snow Mountain is a player friendly course designed by Pete Dye. But don’t be mistaken - there are some very difficult pot bunkers behind the rolling greens and wide fairways. Paiute Resort is the perfect getaway for golfers who love a little seclusion. You can’t miss the par-5 with a 525-foot water guarded green. Have a great time!

Reflection Bay at Lake Las Vegas: This course was designed by legendary Jack Nicklaus. The scenery and design give the course a Southwest and Southeast (Florida) look. Watch the lake holes. While you may avoid the water there is the danger of finding one of the many sand traps. This course is one you will certainly want to consider on your Vegas golf vacation.

Royal Links Golf Club: This course gives the golfer an opportunity to tackle some British Open-styled holes. The unique clubhouse is castle-shaped. Be sure to watch out for the deep bunkers around the greens. The old Hell Bunker from Saint Andrews is also represented here. Stay away from that bunker if you want to keep your score low!

The Canyons’ TPC: This course is like stepping back into the Nevada desert. Designed by Ray Floyd and Bobby Reed, the course fits right in to its natural surroundings. Ray and Bobby pulled in many beautiful elements of the local environment to make this course special. But looks can be deceiving - look out for the 30-foot deep Death Valley arroyo.

These are only five of the great courses you can find in Las Vegas. There are many more golf courses nearby - more than enough to make a fantastic vacation for any golf fanatic. So if you’re planning a golf trip getaway, don’t forget to consider Las Vegas!
